Hi. I have an old Alesis MMT-8 hard sequencer, and the Data Disk. I'm
trying to convert my old songs into Logic Express 7.0. I can't get my Mac
to recognize the data as a midi file. Can anyone please help?

Thanks!

Try opening the file in Quickitme. If it opens, then do a
"Save As" - Standard Midid File. Logic should then accept
the file.

I also have an old MMT-8. It's broken now, but while it still was
working I transfered songs between it and Logic by simply connecting
a MIDI cable and pushing "play" on one unit and "rec" on the other.
Probably the fastest method ;-) When recording in Logic, remember to
set the MIDI Cannel input to "All". When all MIDI are well recorded
as one region you can choose "Split By MIDI Note" to explode it
dedicated tracks fro the different MIDI channels.
